EventHaus was honored to have been a local sponsor for the James Beard Foundation’s Night of Culinary Stars event last month. The James Beard Foundation is a non-profit organization based in New York City that is designed to continue the legacy of cookbook author and teacher, James Beard, by educating, entertaining, inspiring and fostering a deep understanding of culinary culture. The event, which was held on Friday, September 25 at The Cedar Room featured a cocktail and tasting reception before a formal sit down dinner was served.

As one of Charleston’s newest venue spaces, we were thrilled to outfit The Cedar Room space with EventHaus rentals including, Chiavari chairs, tables, linens and dinnerware. The James Beard Foundation travels around the U.S. every year on a cuisine tour to some of the most esteemed culinary towns in America. This was the second year the tour stopped in Charleston, and as with last year, we were thrilled to be involved. The evening brings together the ‘who’s who’ in Charleston’s foodie scene to serve a meal that it sure to please the palette and inspire guests.

The local tastemakers that were involved with creating the menu included, James Beard Award Winner, Mike Lata from The Ordinary, pastry chef Lauren Mitterer from WildFlour Pastry and host chef Jeremiah Bacon from The Macintosh. The reception hour featured a tasting from Craig Deihl from Cypress, Kevin Johnson from The Grocery, Josh Keeler from Two Boroughs Larder and Jason Stanhope from FIG. This talented group of Charleston individuals created an outstanding menu that highlighted the goal of the foundation – to create, serve and enjoy good food.

We look forward to sponsoring the event next year, as we continue to build James Beard’s legacy here in the Holy City.
